“Desigualdad en Países en Desarrollo: ¿Ajustando las Expectativas?”.

This paper documents the level and trends of monetary inequality in developing countries based on Povcalnet data up to the year 2015. On average, during the first half of the current decade, inequality declined in developing economies, although at a rate substantially lower than that experienced during the 2000s. The current average level of the Gini coefficient is above the value of the early 1980s, which shows the difficulties in moving towards societies with significantly lower levels of economic inequality.
