“Acceso al financiamiento de las PYMES en Argentina: estado de situación y propuestas de política”

This paper analyzes the degree of access to credit by small and medium enterprises in Argentina. To this end, the study critically reviews widely accepted arguments among policy makers and even specialists in the field. In particular, we question the real extent of the unmet demand for credit and debit selection process and the transparency of public programs. Based on theoretical arguments and different sources of evidence for Argentina and other countries, we provide practical recommendations for the design of public policies aimed at improving the integration of SMEs in the credit market.
