The potentially uncompetitive nature of professional organizations has been studied by economic literature and has occupied an important place in the agenda of competition agencies. However, empirical studies on self-regulated professions are scarce. This paper relates the professional service markets with vertical differentiation markets and employs a mixed Logit model to evaluate the behavior of medical performance in Argentina. The findings seem to indicate the existence of a price agreement.
