“Discriminación salarial en la Argentina: un análisis distributivo”.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the existence of gender wage discrimination in Argentina. The methodology used is the one proposed by Gradín, Del Río y Cantó (2006), which emphasizes the importance of considering the individual wage gap when analyzing discrimination and follows an analogy with the poverty and deprivation literature. Two alternative estimation methods are used (OLS and QR), and the hypotheses of “glass ceiling” and “sticky floor” are evaluated on the groups with higher and lower education respectively.
